Bridging the Gap (B.T.G.)

Bridging the Gap (B.T.G.)

Bridging the Gap (B.T.G.) is a temporary contact program that “Bridges the Gap” for the Alcoholic exiting Alcoholic Treatment and Alcoholics Anonymous meetings in their local area, in the critical first 24 hours of discharge.  A lot of newcomers leave treatment intending to go to an AA meeting but never make it. Having been there ourselves, we realize how intimidating it can be approaching an AA meeting for the first time or even re-approaching. We are extending a welcoming hand, ready to be of service to the alcoholic seeking a solution.

Bridging the Gap (B.T.G.)’s purpose is to enable a newcomer to find meetings in their local area; meet other Alcoholics and get telephone numbers; find the fellowship they crave and be supported in continuing their sobriety; join a home group and secure a possible service commitment; find a sponsor & never be alone again.

The diagram below describes in detail how Bridging the Gap (B.T.G.) works and how a newcomer connects with a temporary contact in Alcoholics Anonymous. Download the document by clicking on the file download link below.
